Amy MacDonald is a UK singer songwriter born
25th August 1987 in Bishopbriggs / Glasgow.
Her first album, This Is the
Life, was released in 2007, aged 20, with
the single, This Is the Life, making number one
in six countries. The other top songs on the
album are Mr Rock & Roll, Run, and Youth
Of Today.

A Curious Thing was
released in 2010, with the top songs Don't Tell Me
That It's Over, Your Time Will Come, Spark, Love
Love, and Give It All Up.
Life in a Beautiful
Light was released in 2012, with the top songs

Amy was inspired to start her music career after
listening to the Glasgow band, Travis, at the T in
the Park Festival in 2000, when she was 13. She began
playing in pubs and clubs around Glasgow from the age
of 15, such as the Brunswick Cellars on Sauchiehall
Street.
She got her breakthrough into the big time by
sending a demo CD to Pete Wilkinson of New Musical
Express, NME. Wilkinson worked with her and helped
secure a deal with Vertigo Records in 2007, when she
was 20.
Her favourite other artist is Bruce Springsteen,
with her covering some of his songs, that can be
heard on YouTube, such as Dancing in the Dark and
Born to Run.
