This is one of Western Canada's largest Museums, with over 20 galleries, displaying a selection of the Glenbow's collection of over one million objects.

The museum has four main collections: Cultural History, Ethnology, Military History, & Mineralogy.

The Calgary City Hall is situated about 0.3 miles northeast of the Calgary Tower, just round the corner from Theatre Calgary.

This historic Town Hall was built in 1911, of sandstone, with a modern extension added in 1986.

The old part of Town Hall still houses the Mayor's Office. It was designed by W. Dodd in Romanesque style, now classed as an historic landmark .


The Olympic Plaza is situated about 0.4 miles northeast of the Calgary Tower, next to the Old City Hall.

The Plaza is an Urban Park, popular meeting place, built for the medal ceremonies at the 1988 Winter Olympic Games.

Olympic Plaza is now used as for outdoor events, such as Concerts and Festivals. In winter, it is used as an Ice Skating area.

Stephen Avenue is situated about 0.5 miles west of the Calgary Tower, a top pedestrian mall with some of Calgary's finest restaurants, cafes, pubs and bar/diners.

The street also has a good mix of clothing retailers. Places to shop include the Calgary Eaton Centre, TD Square, Bankers Hall, Scotia Centre, and The Bay.


Fort Calgary is situated about 1 mile east of Calgary Tower, built in 1875 as Fort Brisebois by the North-West Mounted Police, where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet.

The Fort was built to deal with Illegal Whiskey traders from the area.

In 1974, the land was designated a National Historic Site.

Canada Olympic Park or now Winsport Arena, is situated 9 miles northwest of the Calgary Tower.

Winsport Arena is now used by the public for athletic training and recreational purposes, such as mountain biking. In winter, the park is also used for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing.

During the 1988 Winter Olympics, the Park was the used for the ski jumping, bobsleigh, and luge. Reviews


Calaway Park is situated 14 miles west of Calgary centre.

Calaway Park is Western Canada's largest Family Amusement Park. The Park has a number of rides including a large log flume, the rides Chaos, Storm, The Vortex, and the Dream Machine, a 56 passenger swing ride.

Banff is the largest town in Banff National Park. At 4,800 feet, it is the second highest Town in Canada, the highest being Lake Louise with the Chateau Lake Louise being the main Hotel.
